Off to the industry get-together: area30 is calling!

2026-09-01

A boost to business is expected for the coming kitchen and home furnishings season

At the area30 trade fair – which enjoys popularity far beyond the kitchen community – big names and smart innovations are once again in high demand this year. Not least, the arrival of Team7, the globally renowned solid wood furniture manufacturer, at cube30 – situated directly opposite the exhibition centre – sends a clear signal. Organiser trendfairs (Fürth) is therefore expecting over 12,000 trade visitors from Germany, Europe and overseas at the fifteenth edition of this successful B2B event, taking place from 19 to 24 September 2026 in Löhne. With the largest number of exhibitors and brands in one place, a wide variety of new products and a diverse supporting programme, area30 remains a major business event in the annual ‘Küchenherbst’ (Kitchen Autumn) calendar.

“Our team has once again given its all over the past few weeks – in sales, planning and the services at our trade fair, which have been consistently praised by all parties. We have been working intensively on further developing our kitchen network and have succeeded in securing the now well-established Furniture Industry Training Centre and the Herford Furniture Associations as new partners. And with the arrival of solid wood specialists Team7 in our cube30, right next to our long-standing loyal permanent exhibitor Walden, we are celebrating a very special highlight this autumn,” emphasises trendfairs CEO Christopher Boss.

Renowned brands and strong industry partners
Alongside this new addition, area30, as expected, boasts a host of other big names – such as AKP, Amica, Caesarstone, Caso, Cyncly, Der Kreis, Eopus, Garantiemax, Grohe, Hansgrohe, Häfele, Horst Vogt, Küchentreff, Naber, Naturstein Risse, Oranier, Quooker, Rempp, SHD, Strasser, Systemceram, Tebü and Villeroy & Boch. Over 180 exhibitors and brands in the exhibition halls successfully round off this selection.

Arrive, feel at home and do business
Its central location in the heart of the kitchen furniture industry and direct access to the A2 and A30 motorways make area30 easily accessible from Germany and neighbouring European markets. Rail travellers and international visitors also benefit from the airports in Hanover, Dortmund and Paderborn.

To ensure a hassle-free journey, 1,250 parking spaces are available directly next to the exhibition halls, along with a further 2,500 free spaces near area30. Shuttle services connect the car parks to the exhibition grounds and, for the first time, also link area30 to the M.O.W. furniture trade fair in Bad Salzuflen. Online registration also provides quick, digital access to the fair.

Inside the exhibition halls, high-quality stands and a wide range of catering options – including free barista-made coffee several times a day – create a pleasant atmosphere for face-to-face discussions, networking and establishing concrete business contacts. Innovation, quality and sophisticated design are becoming increasingly important, particularly in a market environment that remains challenging. area30 offers a focused platform for this and, in addition to specialist kitchen and furniture retailers, is increasingly appealing to property developers, project developers, architects and the creative trades.

Inspiration, knowledge and new perspectives
For the latter target group, organiser trendfairs has a special premiere in store this year: ‘Folding Rule Day’. This is because bespoke kitchens – a booming market – require smart processes and precision work down to the millimetre. For joiners and carpenters, this means more complex projects, greater attention to detail and higher expectations in terms of planning and execution. The new event focuses precisely on this, including a guided tour of the exhibition grounds highlighting selected innovations and trade fair highlights.

Other ‘Guided Tours’ on the Saturday and Wednesday of the fair take visitors straight to the highlights of area30 – providing a comprehensive overview, valuable insights and inspiration in a short space of time regarding selected innovations and exciting new products. The starting point is at the catering area in the innovation area. The stage there is the established meeting place for knowledge, inspiration and discussion about the future of the kitchen industry.

From Sunday to Wednesday, experts, thought leaders and practitioners will captivate the audience with inspiring keynote speeches, engaging discussions and down-to-earth panel sessions – covering topics ranging from AI, social media and performance marketing, through retail and planning, to new business models and strategies for the future. The event is partnered by the trade journal ‘Möbelkultur’; speakers include, for example, designer Katrin de Louw, futurologist Theresa Schleicher, VDM Managing Director Jan Kurth and Markus Kamann from the Furniture Industry Training Centre.

“MöFa goes Küchenherbst”: area30 is focusing on the next generation of industry talent
As well as focusing on trends and innovations, area30 also looks to the future of the industry. Through ‘MöFa goes Küchenherbst’, it enables students at the Cologne School of Furniture Design to experience the latest developments first-hand, make contacts and gain an initial insight into professional practice.

For several years now, the trendfairs initiative has been bringing the vocational college to the ‘Küchenherbst’ event in East Westphalia. As well as visiting area30, the students are guests at other relevant exhibition venues in the region. In 2026, too, they will travel to Löhne on their own shuttle bus. trendfairs organises the excursion as a not-for-profit initiative, thereby making an active contribution to the development of young talent. “Gaining direct insight into the practical side of the industry right at the start of their studies is a special opportunity,” emphasises Sabine Gantzkow, head of the Furniture College. For the kitchen industry, this form of supporting the next generation is a key building block for its future.

long tuesday: More time for conversations and business
With the inaugural ‘Long Tuesday’, area30 is extending its opening hours on Tuesday until 8 pm. This extra evening at the trade fair provides an opportunity for in-depth discussions, personal encounters and relaxed business meetings. It creates further business opportunities for exhibitors, whilst trade visitors can round off the day without feeling pressed for time. Culinary highlights, music and other programme features create a great atmosphere and make Tuesday evening a special trade fair experience. In this way, area30 becomes a meeting place for the community – for business, exchange and shared experiences.
