Good mood, business up, focus on innovations: area30 sends out clear signals

2025-09-29

Europe's central trade fair for the kitchen industry testifies to returning optimism among exhibitors and visitors

From 20 to 25 September 2025, the area30 kitchen trade fair lived up to its excellent reputation: it once again developed its unique appeal, attracting about 12,000 trade visitors to the exhibition grounds in Löhne. And both the 14th edition of the successful format and the vast majority of trade fair visitors testified to a return to optimism. One of the main reasons for this is the numerous new products and innovations, with AI recognisably gaining dominance in the developments.

Michael Rambach, Managing Director and partner of organiser Trendfairs (Fürth), draws a positive conclusion at the end of the trade fair - after initial caution due to the global economic and political situation: "The 14th edition of area30 has once again demonstrated its pulling power and its leading position remains undisputed. The now numerous regular exhibitors generate an unrivalled dynamic in terms of attracting both trade visitors and new exhibitors - as demonstrated by our first-time exhibitor this year and global player Häfele, among others. The excellent atmosphere on all days of the trade fair manifested itself in good to very good trade fair results and a frequently increased order volume. In my opinion, the signals emanating from area30 clearly say one thing: the industry will soon be on the upswing again!"

There was a notable increase in the number of visiting companies in 2025 - in other words, the number of companies that travelled to the event increased while the volume of visitors remained almost the same as last year. This also reflects the high demand for area30 and the slowly brightening mood in the 'kitchen world' with justified hopes that the investment backlog in renovation and new construction in Germany will be resolved.

With around 8,700 trade visitors (78%), German visitors once again made up the largest group of visitors. They were followed by visitors from the Netherlands (9 %) and Belgium (2.2 %) at a considerable distance, but with a strong showing. Other important visitor countries were the Alpine countries of Austria (1.9%), Switzerland and Italy (both around 1%). Notable visitor groups also came from France, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, Turkey and the UK - the statistical analysis shows a total of 61 visitor countries.

At area30 2025, trade representatives from kitchen studios (5,080 guests), retailers including the large-scale sector (around 2,400), association groups (150), designers and architects (around 500) and the manufacturing industry (around 1,450) met over 180 company and brand names. The interesting mix of newcomers and start-ups with established industry giants and regular exhibitors is one of area30's unique selling points.

The presence of the kitchen-producing carpentry and joinery trade was remarkable. The unanimous feedback from exhibitors was that their interest in the presentations at area30 has been growing at an above-average rate for several years and that targeted business discussions with the trade are increasing significantly.

"The trade fair provides an excellent platform to connect with industry professionals, discuss trends and demonstrate our commitment to quality, design and sustainability. We also want to use the opportunity to strengthen our partnerships and explore new business opportunities," says Evie Van Maele, Managing Director DACH at Caesarstone. Nikolaus Fleischhacker, CEO at Oranier, also confirms this: "For us, this order fair is an important and central date in the calendar, where we present our new products and meet our trade partners. We value the September date in Löhne as a meeting point for the industry ...".

During the almost week-long order fair, suppliers of sinks, taps, extraction systems and electrical appliances, software and accessories came together with industry specialists, buyers and multipliers for personal dialogue, negotiations and business deals, and to find innovative ideas and products. Over 120 accredited media representatives were also on the lookout for the latest news. The importance of area30 as a marketplace for innovations and the hub of the kitchen world was demonstrated by the fact that around a third of visitors to the trade fair were managing directors or owners of the visiting companies - followed by sales staff (also a third), sales representatives, buyers, designers, marketers and product managers or developers.

The outstanding role of area30 as an indispensable platform and central meeting place for the kitchen industry, where business deals are concluded and visions are conceived, was due not least to the "innovation area" with its "stage", which was organised for the third time. With well over 20 top presentations and panel discussions, a community format has been established where important voices communicate the future of the kitchen in an industry-oriented and practical way. Just as it should be at an outstanding international industry trade fair: it sends out reliable signals. The next meeting point for area30 has been set: 19 to 24 September 2026.
